BACKGROUND
This project aim to challenge and re-evaluate the way we can use and incorporate sustainable materials in furniture design.
The project explores the relation between material, technology and form, with the intention to unite a contemporary material with classical references and traditional processing.
RPAV1 is made out of 100% recycled polyethylene(HDPE), suitable for outdoor use.
RPAV1 is a bold and ambitious design proposal, trying to show how recycled plastic can be implemented in a playful way, through innovative, independent and surprising design.
Furthermore, the project tries to show how an alternative & “primitive” production process can contribute to lower production costs, rather than using highly advanced and expensive technology.
