TWO-FACE STOOL

Designed for disassembly

MATERIAL:
Veneer
Pigment
Linseed Oil
Belt
Buckle

BACKGROUND

This project is a result of material tests and experiments in veneer and textile. The design tries to utilize the material’s inherent properties and investigates the possibilities within construction and alternative assembly techniques.

TWO FACE STOOL consist of four bent 3mm veneer elements, held together by a belt.
The stool is designed for disassembly and has a “split” feature that converts it to two identical stools.

The stool measures mm. H:470 L:360 W:260

PROCESS

The concept got developed with the cylindrical shape as a starting point, ensuring a strong constructional basis.

The veneer elements consist of three layers of 3mm ash veneer, cross-laminated under high pressure.

The structure in the ash veneer is enhanced by green linseed oil. A kind of natural ornamentation.

The stool is assembled by a textile-strap and buckle, in a unadvanced and honest way.
